"Have fun storming the castle."

One sign of a truly wonderful person is the ability to quote the Princess Bride.

The other day, my girls asked permission to do something. I said, "Sure. Go ahead. Have fun storming the castle." They looked confused and asked me what that meant. I explained that it's a line from a movie.

The next day, I recounted that conversation to a friend who then proceeded to quote the entire scene from which that line was taken.

I love the Princess Bride. I love my friends. If you are a friend who can quote the Princess Bride, well then, you can just rock on with your bad-ass self. :)

FTR, back in high school, one of my best friends and I would often find ourselves randomly announcing, "Mawage" during pauses in conversation. One would start and the other would continue (head looks left, right, center), "Mawage iz wut bwings us togeder today."

Some teenagers smoke crack. Some develop alcoholic tendencies at an early age. Some take an affinity to weapons. My friends and I randomly quoted the Princess Bride.

My personal favorites were the rodents of unusual size and the bog of unbearable stench.

Love love love that movie. It's one of the few we actually own.

Our favorite line around here is: "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

I love this movie too, but for me, it's not my friends who I exchange quotes with, but my children (who are now in their mid-twenties)... and ofcourse my daughter's pet hampster was called the R.O.U.S.
